The Lamp PL1 has been designed and developed with dual functionality – it can be used both as fixed lighting when connected to a power supply with a USB cable, or as a moveable lamp using the Li-ion battery supplied.
When used as a fixed lighting, which could be on a bedside table, between books on a shelf or on an office desk, the dual functionality allows direct connection to a power supply with a USB cable, and even if the battery is not inserted, the lamp will work perfectly. PL1 has three brightness settings, which can be set by gently touching the top of the lamp – full brightness is 250 lumens maximum
It takes approximately three hours to fully charge the battery.

The founder of the brand is George Sowden, an eclectic English designer. After moving to Italy in 1970 collaborated with several well-known brands, including Olivetti. In the 1980s he and Ettore Sottsass were founding members of Memphis, a group defined as the post-modern movement. His iconic objects and patterns have been a great inspiration to many designers over the years.
Following a great research and experimentation in the field of lighting, in 2021 he created his collection of lamps, designed to be used both as table lamps and furniture thanks to the rechargeable battery.
