Ossie is part of The Rocky Kit project, a collection of lightweight fitness gears created with the aim of bridging the gap between functionality and aesthetic using a noble and ancient material: travertine. The combination of fitness and stone allows you to benefit from natural materials, currently little used in the equipment for home training and in the gym. Ossie not only offers fresh design to fulfill function, but also stands on its own as an object of great artistic value. Ossie is the lighter piece of this collection.
The shape reminds the skeletal structure of our body ‘Ossa’ in Italian which means bones.

Nicoletta Meloni, graduated from the Politecnico di Milano at the Building and Architectural Engineering. After a visit to a stone factory in Italy she easily recognised the potential coming from mountains of wasted precious material left aside. After some collaborations with architectural studios between Milan and Barcelona, he moved first to New York and then to London, where he currently lives and works as a facade designer and explores in parallel the potential of marble.
Nicoletta Meloni is the founder of Marte, a digital platform that talks about health, wellness, design and architecture and where she launched her first experimental work “The Rocky Kit”, a set of fitness equipment made of travertine. The focus of the project is the optimization of the use of each single piece coming from marble production processes, avoiding the use of virgin material. His objects are entirely produced using waste from stone production.
